Program Description

Event Details

William Wells Brown was an important member of the Abolitionist movement. His brother, Joe Travis, survived the Alamo. Using Brown’s own writings, as well as their biographies, local historian Cathie Schoppenhorst will tell the stories of these two men, who spent their childhoods enslaved by Dr. John Young in Marthasville.
