Join us on a journey through Missouri’s remarkable trail system, home to America’s longest rail-trail. The Katy and Rock Island trails connect urban and rural landscapes, showcasing the state's natural beauty and economic potential. Running alongside the Missouri River and through scenic farmland, "Trails Across Missouri" combines original photography with a narrative of resilience and heritage. Experience the unique bond between people and the environment as you explore Missouri’s history and beauty.

 

About the Author

Dan Burkhardt lives in St. Louis and on his farm near the Missouri River with a herd of fifty cows and several flocks of chickens. He has also created two coffee-table books on two very different watersheds -- Missouri River Country: 100 Miles of Stories and Scenery from Hermann to the Confluence (2013) and Florida Bay Forever: The Story of Water from the Everglades to the Keys (2013).
