This is a four-part series. By signing up for this event, you will be signed up to attend all four dates: Monday, March 3; Monday, March 10; Monday, March 17; and Monday, March 24. Please provide an email address; you will be emailed a link to register for this program through MU Extension as well.
In this wonderful partnership between the Department of Health and Human Services and MU Extension, we will explore "Dining with Diabetes."
This is the first of a four-session course that helps participants build food skills through cooking while learning strategies to manage, prevent, or delay diabetes-related complications. Each session offers detailed instruction, group activities, and a live cooking demonstration with recipe sampling.
Dining with Diabetes was created by Ohio State University and adapted with permission for use by the University of Missouri Extension.
Instructor: Rachel O'Halloran is a Nutrition and Health Specialist for Gasconade County and a registered dietitian licensed in Missouri.

Course Content:
- Lesson 1 - Living a Healthy Life - Recipes- Baked Pork Chops, Four Bean Salad, Sauteed Cinnamon Apples
- Lesson 2 - Carbohydrates and Sweeteners - Recipes- Grilled Fish Tacos with Peach Salsa, Zucchini w/ Corn and Peppers
- Lesson 3 - Fats and Sodium - Recipes- Mini Meatloaves w/ BBQ Sauce, Green Beans w/ Tomatoes, and Basil, Fruit and Yogurt Parfait
- Lesson 4 - Vitamins, minerals, Fiber & Putting It All Together - Recipes- Easy Turkey Chili, Autumn Salad, Oatmeal Cookies
