*St. Louis Master Gardener Carol Gravens presents: Missouri's Native Orchids
Program Summary: From a hiker’s experience, finding a native orchid is a rare and exciting event. Missouri lays claim to 35 naturally occurring species of orchids, many of which are endangered and elusive. Some of them have very tiny, delicate flowers. Others are quite showy, such as the Lady Slipper. This talk explores the great variety of Missouri’s native orchids as well as their anatomy, pollination, seed germination, and other unique characteristics.*
