Program Description

Event Details

This is the heartbreaking and uplifting story of a courageous girl, who was determined to survive.  She was 13 when the Nazis came.  And she was 17 when she was liberated.

She was imprisoned at two of the Holocaust’s most infamous death camps:  Auschwitz and Majdanek, where more than a million Jews were murdered.  At Maydanek, she saw her mother being marched into a gas chamber to die.

Her survival was miraculous.  But this is also the story of the aftermath.  The Holocaust deeply damaged survivors’ souls.  In this respect, her story and all survivors’ stories live on through their children and their children’s children.
