Storytelling through Printmaking
Through fine art, illustration, and even advertising printmaking has always used the printed image as a means of storytelling. Emmett Merrill, co-founder of Twin Hound Print Shop in Kansas City, will be discussing the history and process of printmaking and present a collection of works by contemporary printmakers.
Bio
Emmett Merrill (Born 1993, Kansas City, MO) received his BFA from the Kansas City Art Institute in 2015, and his MFA from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville in 2020. He has worked as a press assistant at Tom Huck’s Evil Prints and went on to manage the lithography studio at Grafik House USA. In 2025, he co-founded Twin Hound Print Shop in Kansas City’s West Bottoms neighborhood. His work can be found in the public collections of the Library of Congress and The New York Public Library. In the last two years, he has had solo exhibitions at Monaco USA, Buckham Gallery, and the Sheldon Arts Center. He currently lives and publishes his work in Kansas City, MO.
